Soft Dilepton Production in Au-Au Collisions by Twophoton Processes

  • The production of the low transverse momentum (PT) dileptons induced by semicohe rent twophoton interaction is calculated. The numerical results are compared with the experimental data from the PHENIX， the modification of the semicoherent twophoton interaction is remarkable in the low transverse momentum region for different mass bins. We find that the contribution of semicoherent twophoton processes is more evident in the large dilepton mass region.
