Abstract: By analyzing accurate experimental values of the total cro ss sections of electrons scattering by CO and CO 2 molecules, a formula ha s deduced, which reflects a correlation of the total cross section for electr ons scattering from molecules with energy and molecular parameters, in the ene rgy region below 1 500 eV.
