Abstract: The basic properties of halo nuclei are investigated in the relativistic density dependent Hartree approach, where the correlation effects among halo particles are crucial for the description of the halo property. Adapting only one free parameter, we have calculated the separation energies and mass density distributions of halo nuclei 11 Li, 11 Be and 19 C and they are in good agreement with the experimental data.
