Abstract:
As the ramping rate of magnetic field in ion accelerators becomes larger and larger, the synchronization between all hardware has much more detrimental impacts on the beam commissioning, operation, and the facility performance. It is necessary to measure and correct the synchronization of all accelerator hardware a whole-facility automatic synchronization measurement system is built in the SESRI, a major infrastructure project of the National Twelfth Five-Year Plan. The system corrects the synchronization between the SESRI hardware devices to about 10 μs, and greatly improves the commissioning efficiency and performance of the SESRI. All results show that the automatic synchrotron measurement system can significantly improve the accuracy and the real-time capability of the synchronization measurements, which makes it possible to measure the synchronization of non-resonant rapid-cycling accelerators quickly and accurately.
