Abstract: We have investigated the incompressibility of asymmetric nuclear matter within the BruecknerHartreeFock approach extended to include a microscopic threebody force. The isospindependence and densitydependence of the nuclear incompressibility have been obtained and discussed. It is shown that the incompressibility at a fixed density increases monotonically as a function of isospin asymmetry. The isospin asymmetry dependence of the equilibrium properties of asymmetric nuclear matter is also predicted and compared with the results of other theoretical approaches.
