Abstract: Ion beam or electronbeam irradiation will lead to the change of material microstructure. By the use of facilities composed of an electron microscope and ion accelerator(s), the microstructure evolvement in material can be insitu studied during the irradiation and following annealing processes. The facilities have been widely used to study many kinds of materials, e.g. metal, alloy, ceramic materials and semiconductor, in the past twenty years.
