Abstract: The principles, merit and demerit of neutron and prompt γ-ray method are described through the cross section measurement for 239 Pu(n,2n) reaction. The population ways of low levels of the product nucleus are divided into a direct population from the (n,2n) reaction, a part from the upper level deexitation and a part from the all high level deexitation. The missed cross sections σ m(k) are defined. The minimum missed cross section σ m(0) that can not be measured experimentlly is obtained...
